Family Habilitation/Visitation Specialist

If you share feel equally strong about these sentiments and are looking for a flexible, part- time job, The Center for Youth and Family Solutions has an opening for a Family Habilitation/Visitation Specialist.  A Family Habilitation/Visitation Specialist assists families in need who are involved in the child welfare system. Responsibilities include supervising parent/child visitations, transportation of foster children to and from visits and appointments, parent coaching during family visitations, supporting clients in accessing community resources, teaching parenting techniques on a one on one basis, and role modeling positive behavior. Important qualities to possess to thrive in this job: good writing skills, works well independently and strong people skills.  

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma
  • Must have a valid driver's license, three years driving experience, clean driving record, insurance and reliable transportation
  • Availability to work 15-20 hours per week
  • Must pass DCFS background check
