This is a combined position where you would be working with both birth parents, adoptive parents and foster parents. If you feel equally strong about those sentiments, we encourage you to apply to be an Adoption Specialist/Recruiter. This team member will:

  • Actively recruit, support, educate, and retain foster families for The Center for Youth and Family Solutions
  • Implement the foster parent recruitment plan to attract new foster families and pro-actively seeking new approaches for recruitment
  •  Assist current foster care licensing staff with recruitment including responding to inquiries, making follow up contacts, presentations, personal contacts, creates direct mailings and/or other techniques to reach potential foster families
  • Provide orientations to interested individuals to introduce them to the CYFS strength based, trauma informed and family centered approach to providing foster care and eliminate barriers
  • Provide support to the Communication team in the execution of marketing efforts of The Center for Youth and Family Solutions
  • Collaborate with the CYFS Director of Marketing and Development to increase public awareness of the agency utilizing traditional and nontraditional methods including marketing materials, events, mailings, social media and the web page
  • Represent the agency at external functions
  • Educate prospective adoptive families on our strength based, family centered, trauma informed, culturally sensitive adoption process 
  • Complete all the state, federal  and agency documentation needed to secure an adoptive placement  move a child toward a permanent adoptive family
  • Complete home studies and parent training and recommendations to the agency, courts and state to finalize the adoptions
  • Collaborate with foster care and pregnancy counseling staff to assist with secure an adoptive placement Provide outreach to increase community awareness of

Requirements Include:

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a human service related field
  •  Ability to pass DCFS background check, CWEL licensure, 402 and Child Care Act
  •  Possession of a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and three years of driving experience and be willing to travel
  •  Ability to meet responsibilities in a timely and cost effective manner
  •  Prior child welfare experience preferred.
  •  On call availability
