In short, this remote role will help develop business solutions for a nonprofit social service agency using the Microsoft Office 365 platform and other tools, including SharePoint Online, Flow, PowerApps, Power BI, SQL Server, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and WordPress.


Software Specialist Full Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and manages project schedules and provides status reports. Works with internal customers to identify and analyze business requirements, to define deliverables, and to design, develop, validate, and deploy the solution.
  • Continues to maintain and enhance existing SharePoint Online applications and other business solutions in response to evolving business needs.
  • Securely integrates corporate data systems to SharePoint Online applications and other software systems.
  • Oversees and maintains user access and permissions to the SharePoint Online environment and other software systems.
  • Creates, maintains, and documents SharePoint Online and WordPress workflows and supports business unit access to and maintenance of site content.
  • Demonstrates solutions and provides end-user training for Microsoft SharePoint based applications and other software systems. Coaches other team members on system.
  • Provides support to agency website using WordPress.
  • Researches and recommends new solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience building SharePoint online modern solutions.
  • Experience building M365 products solutions including but not limited to SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Yammer, Planner, Exchange, Power Platform, and WordPress.
  • Proficiency in content management systems such as WordPress (or have expertise in a similar CMS).
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization practices and principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong communication skills adept at listening, questioning, explaining, and providing feedback.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, successfully meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptable to change and solution-focused at problem-solving.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in SharePoint
  • Strong desire to learn new content management systems
  • Associate's Degree required,

Preferred Credentials:

Bachelor's Degree and/or Software certifications relative to this position
