About the Job:

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and oversee the quality of foster care and intact services to designated service region.
  • Act as a liaison between upper management and site supervisors, solving problems and sharing information as necessary.
  • Evaluate all Foster care and Intact family services to ensure they are meeting long-term objectives of the agency, meeting standards of time and cost efficiencies, and are sensitive to the cultural differences in the service population.
  • Supervise assigned staff, assisting them with job-related issues and provide performance feedback no less than every 3 months utilizing internal and external tools which measure performance.
  • Schedule, coordinate and/or facilitate regular site supervisor meetings to communicate important issues (internal/external) which are/will impact the agency, policies, changes within the organization, review of site/foster care budget, Strategic Plan and semi-annual training.
  • Oversee and remediate deficiencies associated with any existing service contracts to ensure compliance and that provided services are in-line with contract requirements.
  • Provide training, perspective, and support to empower supervisees to deliver quality services.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, institute professional development plans and promotional recommendations of supervised staff.
  • Act as back-up for site supervisor, stepping in to fulfill essential duties.
  • Prepare necessary reports for decision making and documentation required by the agency as well as state and federal agencies and other funders or stakeholders
  • Provide input and feedback on issues related to the agency as a whole, and make decisions as part of appropriate Agency and/or Foster Care Leadership Teams.
  • Assess the need for and assure that foster home recruitment activities are occurring in conjunction with the Licensing coordinator.
  • Serve as a representative of the organization, maintaining and developing relationships with key external contacts and the community at large.
  • Provide after hours "on-call" back-up as needed.
  • Oversee the Bloomington Morris and LaSalle Site Supervisors

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work or another acceptable degree approved by DCFS (Required)
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience in Foster Care and/or related programs (Preferred)
  • Must pass a DCFS background check
  • Must obtain an insured vehicle, clean driving record, and three years driving record with a valid driver's license
